چکیده

Abstract Since per capita global meat utilization is predicted to increase 40% from 2019 2050, use of cultivable land in livestock, poultry, and feed production 30%. Use alternative protein sources as animal can be a solution minimize cropland usage conventional production. Commonly used diets like soybean meal fish are facing challenges high demand, but the current might not fulfill their dire need. To overcome this issue, discovery need hour, insect meals black soldier fly (BSF) one these sources. These flies non-infectious, bite-less, convert variant types organic waste (food wastes, human excreta) proficiently into rich profile biomass with reduced harmful bacteria count do serve vector disease transmission. Based on substrate used, BSF larvae protein, fat ash contents vary 37-63%, 7-39% 9-28% dry matter basis, respectively. Previous studies have reported that using its byproducts broiler partial or complete replacement In review, brief introduction meal, origin, life cycle, nutritional profile, influences growth performance, carcass characteristics, fatty acid meat, biochemical properties blood, gut morphology microbiota caecum along influence laying performance layers has been discussed detail. Studies concluded possible, whereas may cause poor due digestibility up 62% attributable chitin content (9.6%). Further corroborate effect dietary required standardize inclusion levels feeds for higher poultry.

Potential of poultry by-product meal as a main protein source in diets formulated for juvenile sobaity (Sparidentex hasta)

A 60-day feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the potential of using poultry by-product meal (PBM) as a partial replacement for fish meal (FM) in the diets for juvenile sobaity. Six iso-nitrogenous and iso-lipidic diets were formulated to contain graded levels of PBM, at 0 (as control diet), 15, 25, 35, 45, and 55% of FM replacement. Each diet was fed to groups of 20 juvenile sobaity in trip...

Review of Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) as Animal Feed and Human Food

Food futurists accept that sustainability-minded humanity will increasingly incorporate insects as alternative protein. The most studied and easily reared species are not necessarily the most sustainable, acceptable, or delicious. Here, we review the literature on the black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens, which is capable of efficiently converting a wide variety of organic materials, from food ...
