A rare variation of superior rectus muscle

نویسندگان

چکیده

The extraocular muscles are responsible for all eye movements required to track and fix objects. Superior rectus muscle is located in the superior level of orbital cavity, below musculus levator palpebrae superioris , tilted slightly lateral part orbit. In a routine dissection, we found left, unilateral variation with no other structures, such as nerves vessels. abnormal presented two parts - medial ones. bifurcated into heads different insertion points. It case rare muscles, which, our knowledge, has not yet been reported.

A Rare Anatomical Variation of Sciatic Nerve and its Relationship with Piriformis Muscle

Sciatic nerve is the thickest nerve of the body which is formed by ventral branches of L4, L5, S1, S2 and S3 of spinal nerves as a part of sacral plexus in pelvis. It leaves the pelvis via the greater sciatic foramen below piriformis muscle and descends between the greater trochanter and ischial tuberosity, along the back of the thigh and dividing into the tibial and common peroneal (fibular) n...

A rare variation in the high division of the sciatic nerve surrounding the superior gemellus muscle.

The sciatic nerve normally leaves the pelvis by passing through the greater sciatic foramen below piriformis. However, it may divide into its common fibular and tibial nerve components within the pelvis and its relationship with piriformis is variable. In this paper, we describe a new anatomical variation in which the common fibular nerve passed superior, and the tibial nerve inferior, to the s...

A rare variation of the digastric muscle

The digastric muscle is composed by two muscle bellies: an anterior and a posterior, joined by an intermediate tendon. This muscle is situated in the anterior region of the neck. The region between the hyoid bone and the mandible is divided by an anterior belly into two triangles: the submandibular situated laterally and the submental triangle which is located medially. We found that the anatom...
