A Rapid Review of Reflective Supervision in Social Work

Abstract Reflective supervision (RS) is a crucial component of social work practice but little known about how RS works within the UK context and what outcomes are for workers their service users. A rapid literature review comprised searching four databases academic grey on topic RS. The Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool University College London’s assessment method were employed in an expedited quality appraisal all included papers. Twenty-seven papers included. Findings suggest that supportive, available manager or peer-group enables reflective practice. Regularity supervisory sessions acknowledgement worker’s autonomy seen as enablers reflexivity.
