چکیده

Abstract We present far- and near-ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy of the ?23 Myr edge-on debris disk surrounding A0V star ? CO is not detected, find no evidence for star-grazing exocomets. CS are blueshifted by ?16.9 2.6 in star’s reference frame, indicating that they outflowing a radiatively driven wind. Our analysis shows because an earlier type Cet, more substantial radiation pressure dominant transitions, this species cannot bind it does resulting

Resolved debris disk emission around η Tel : a young Solar System or ongoing planet formation ?

Aims. 60% of the A star members of the 12 Myr old β Pictoris moving group (BPMG) show significant excess emission in the mid-infrared, several million years after the proto-planetary disk is thought to disperse. Theoretical models suggest this peak may coincide with the formation of Pluto-sized planetesimals in the disk, stirring smaller bodies into collisional destruction. Here we present reso...

The Vega Debris Disk – a Surprise from Spitzer

We present high spatial resolution midand far-infrared images of the Vega debris disk obtained with the Multiband Imaging Photometer for Spitzer (MIPS). The disk is well resolved and its angular size is much larger than found previously. The radius of the disk is at least 43 (330 AU), 70 (543 AU), and 105 (815 AU) in extent at 24, 70 and 160 μm, respectively. The disk images are circular, smoot...

Instability of an accretion disk with a magnetically driven wind

Abstract. We present a linear analysis of the stability of accretion disks in which angular momentum is removed by the magnetic torque exerted by a centrifugally driven wind. The effects of the dependence of the wind torque on field strength and inclination, the sub-Keplerian rotation due to magnetic forces, and the compression of the disk by the field are included. A WKB dispersion relation is...

Multicomponent radiatively driven stellar winds IV . On the helium decoupling in the wind of σ Ori

We study the possibility of the helium decoupling in the stellar wind of σ Ori E. To obtain reliable wind parameters for this star we first calculate an NLTE wind model and derive wind mass-loss rate and terminal velocity. Using corresponding force multipliers we study the possibility of helium decoupling. We find that helium decoupling is not possible for realistic values of helium charge (cal...

Five steps in the evolution from protoplanetary to debris disk

The protoplanetary disks seen around Herbig Ae stars eventually dissipate leaving just a tenuous debris disk, comprised of planetesimals and the dust derived from them, as well as possibly gas and planets. This paper uses the properties of the youngest (10-20Myr) A star debris disks to consider the transition from protoplanetary to debris disk. It is argued that the physical distinction between...
