A quantum Leray–Hirsch theorem for banded gerbes
نویسندگان
چکیده
For a gerbe $\mathcal{Y}$ over smooth proper Deligne–Mumford stack $\mathcal{B}$ banded by finite group $G$, we prove structure result on the Gromov–Witten theory of $\mathcal{Y}$, expressing invariants in terms twisted various flat $U(1)$‑gerbes $\mathcal{B}$. This can be viewed as Leray–Hirsch type for gerbes.

Gerbes, Clifford Modules and the Index Theorem
The use of bundle gerbes and bundle gerbe modules is considered as a replacement for the usual theory of Clifford modules on manifolds that fail to be spin. It is shown that both sides of the Atiyah-Singer index formula for coupled Dirac operators can be given natural interpretations using this language and that the resulting formula is still an identity.

We prove that invariance of a quantum theory under the semiclassical vs. strong– quantum duality S/~ ←→ ~/S, where S is the classical action, is equivalent to noncommutativity (of the Heisenberg–algebra type) of the coordinates of the space on which S is defined. We place these facts in correspondence with gerbes and Neveu– Schwarz B–fields and discuss their implications for a quantum theory of...
متن کاملBundle Gerbes Applied to Quantum Field Theory
This paper reviews recent work on a new geometric object called a bundle gerbe and discusses some new examples arising in quantum field theory. One application is to an Atiyah-Patodi-Singer index theory construction of the bundle of fermionic Fock spaces parametrized by vector potentials in odd space dimensions and a proof that this leads in a simple manner to the known Schwinger terms (Mickels...
متن کاملEssential Dimension and Canonical Dimension of Gerbes Banded by Groups of Multiplicative Type
We prove the formula ed(X ) = cdim(X ) + ed(A) for any gerbe X banded by an algebraic group A which is the kernel of a homomorphism of algebraic tori Q → S with Q invertible and S split. This result is applied to prove new results on the essential dimension of algebraic groups.
متن کاملA Quantum Fluctuation Theorem
We consider a quantum system strongly driven by forces that are periodic in time. The theorem concerns the probability P (e) of observing a given energy change e after a number of cycles. If the system is thermostated by a (quantum) thermal bath, e is the total amount of energy transferred to the bath, while for an isolated system e is the increase in energy of the system itself. Then, we show ...
