Abstract A quadrilateral flat-shell element is developed for analysing the deflections, stresses and natural frequencies along with their allied mode shapes of cylindrical, spherical, conical shell panels made up layered composite sandwich material. The (DKZigTS1) based on zigzag theory has seven local as well global DOF per node. concept obtaining transformation matrix used transforming actions reactions from to direction convert plate bending into a element. two separate coordinate systems are transform rotational translational degrees-of-freedom (DOF), direction. transformed Cartesian coordinates (x, y, z) surface system ( ξ 1 , 2 3 ), in which perpendicular surface. DKZigTS1 gives fairly accurate results that align 2D analytical 3D elasticity solutions, reported literature moderately thick panel. present also good agreement finite solutions shallow deep having various material properties, boundary restrained environments, geometrical considered this study.
