A Practical Approach for Solubility Enhancement of Albendazole

Albendazole is an anti-helmintic or anti-worm medication. Due to its water insolubility, it shows poor absorption in GIT as well low bioavailability and produces therapeutic effect. In this study, various hydrotropic agents are used enhance the solubility of Albendazole. Addition 100mg 1M Solution agent like Sodium benzoate, acetate, citrate, salicylate & urea separately absorbance each solution at wavelength 306nm was determined. Results increment also percentage drug release increased upto 19.8%, 25.9%, 26.5% 73.2%, 75.2%, 76.5% 80.7% using benzoate 100ml, 50ml, +Urea (25ml+25ml), citrate acetate Urea 50ml respectively. As sodium has aromatic ring with electron donating Hydroxyl group that lacks other used, may be responsible for increase up 80.7%.
