A post-secular interpretation of religious nationalism: the case of Religious-Zionism

Adopting the ‘post-secular’ critique of mainstream discourse on ‘religion and politics’, this article aims to offer a novel consideration what is commonly identified as religious nationalism. Following post-secular cue, we highlight importance nation-statist configuration power for very construction conceptual categorical frameworks into which discussions religion, secularity, politics, nationalism have usually been put. We use comprehensive study Religious-Zionist ideology, manifested in public debates between 1967 2014, examine how phenomenon can be interpreted without falling trap employing historically politically embodied toolkits if they were ahistorical universal. Our analysis highlights foundational indebtedness Religious-Zionism power, commitment that effect ‘politicizes’ ‘nationalizes’ seen theology or religion.
