A Plating-Free Charging Scheme for Battery Module Based on Anode Potential Estimation to Prevent Lithium Plating

Since fast charging schemes for lithium-ion batteries are known to lead a reduction in battery capacity, there is need avoid lithium plating during the process. This paper designed an anode potential observer and plating-free scheme module risk of all cells module. The was using electrochemical cell model electrical busbar estimate within parallel connected Due its simplicity low computational loads, easy implement charge management system. results demonstrated that can accurately estimation were used scheme. Compared conventional methods, proposed added additional stage control potential, therefore reducing charging. It also reduced peak temperature by approximately 9.8% overall time 18%.
