A Perturbative Analysis of Interacting Scalar Field Cosmologies

Abstract Scalar field cosmologies with a generalized harmonic potential are investigated in flat and negatively curved Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker Bianchi I metrics. An interaction between the scalar matter is considered. Asymptotic methods averaging theory used to obtain relevant information about solution space. In this approach, Hubble parameter plays role of time-dependent perturbation which controls magnitude error full-system time-averaged solutions as it decreases. Our approach show that full systems have same asymptotic behavior. Numerical simulations presented evidence such Relevant results behavior independent coupling function.

The asymptotic behaviour of a class of inhomogeneous scalar field cosmologies with a Liouville type of potential is studied. We define a set of new variables for which the phase space of the system of Einstein equations is bounded. This allows us to perform a complete analysis of the evolution of these cosmologies.
