چکیده
This article studies a performance-based warranty for products subject to competing hard and soft failures. The two failure modes are in the sense that either one, on “whichever-comes-first” basis, can cause product fail. A not only covers repair or replacement of any defect, but also guarantees minimum performance level throughout period. In this article, we propose three compensation policies—that is, free replacement, penalty, full refund, when product’s fails meet guaranteed level. expected servicing costs policies derived, based risks concept. design problem is further formulated simultaneously determine optimal price, length, guarantee so as maximize manufacturer’s total profit. Numerical conducted demonstrate compare policies. It shown refund policy always leads lowest profit, whereas neither other dominate each all scenarios. particular, results higher profit than penalty cost low, coefficient high, and/or reliability high.

A predictive maintenance strategy based on mean residual life for systems subject to competing failures due to degradation and shocks
In condition-based maintenance area, mean residual life function is recognized as a promising reliability indicator for maintenance decision-making. However, very few maintenance strategies based on the mean residual life have been developed. This paper therefore analyzes a predictive maintenance strategy based on the mean residual life given the degradation level collected periodically in diff...
متن کاملPerformance of Wireless Networks Subject to Constraints and Failures
Recent years have seen a proliferation in the use of wireless multi-hop networks in diverse scenarios ranging from community mesh networks to wireless sensor networks. As wireless networks find application in such wide-ranging arenas and are deployed at large scale, they will increasingly need to operate in the presence of heterogeneous, and often constrained, hardware capabilities. Furthermore...
متن کاملCan Soft-Products Have Precise Quality as Hard Products
E-commerce is changing the way people and economists think. All the old fashioned face to face transactions are becoming obsolete. One of the new things the Internet introduces is not just the way transactions are handled but a new line of products that were not available before. An example of the new products are soft-products. Soft-products are intangible products that can be consumed without...

uncertainty in the financial market will be driven by underlying brownian motions, while the assets are assumed to be general stochastic processes adapted to the filtration of the brownian motions. the goal of this study is to calculate the accumulated wealth in order to optimize the expected terminal value using a suitable utility function. this thesis introduced the lim-wong’s benchmark fun...
15 صفحه اولPredicting Customer-Expectation-Based Warranty Cost for Smaller-the- Better and Larger-the-Better Performance Characteristics
The quality loss function assumes a fixed target and only accounts for immediate issues within manufacturing facilities whereas warranty loss occurs during customer use. Based on the two independent variables, product performance and consumers’ expectation, a methodology to predict the probability of customer complaint is presented in this paper. The formulation presented will serve as a basic ...
