A parallel methodology of adaptive Cartesian grid for compressible flow simulations

Abstract The combination of Cartesian grid and the adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) technology is an effective way to handle complex geometry solve flow problems. Some high-efficiency Cartesian-based AMR libraries have been developed dynamic changes in parallel but still can not meet unique requirements simulating around objects. In this paper, we propose efficient generation method information transmission approach for wall boundary parallelize implementation ghost-cell (GCM). Also, multi-valued multi-value points improved adapt framework. Combining mentioned methodologies with open-source library p4est, automatic simulation compressible achieved. overall performance methodology tested through a wide range inviscid/viscous cases. results indicate that capability scalability present numerical solving multiple types flows, involving shock vortices, multi-body unsteady flows are agreeable as compared related reference data.
