A Novel Three-Phase Switched-Capacitor Five-Level Multilevel Inverter with Reduced Components and Self-Balancing Ability

This paper proposes a step-up 3-Ф switched-capacitor multilevel inverter topology with minimal switch count and voltage stresses. The proposed is designed to provide five distinct output levels from single isolated dc source, making it suitable for medium low-voltage applications. Each leg of the contains four switches, one power diode, capacitor. switching signals are also generated using staircase universal modulation method. As result, will operate at both low high frequencies. To highlight topology’s advantages, comparison three-phase topologies wasperformed in terms components, stress, component per level factor, cost function withthe recent literature. achieved an efficiency about 96.7% dynamic loading, 75% switches experienced half peak (VDC), whereas remaining (2VDC) as stress. MATLAB/Simulink environment was used simulate topology, laboratory prototype built verify inverter’s theoretical justifications real-time performance.
