A Novel Sequential Approach for the Design of Heat Exchanger Networks

چکیده

This paper presents a new algorithm for the design of heat exchanger networks (HEN) that tries to take advantage strengths sequential and simultaneous approaches. It is divided into two parts. The first one an adaptation transportation model (TransHEN). maintains concept temperature intervals considers possibility transfer between all hot cold streams inside those intervals, at same time it allows priori calculation logarithmic mean difference possible exchanges, therefore area estimation linear in model. second step (HENDesign model), uses superstructure contains alternatives which matches predicted by stage can exchange final network. Unlike approach, this model, flows, temperatures, areas, etc. are reoptimized maintaining set stage. highly nonlinear nonconvex, however, relatively easy get good results, because starts with values TransHEN has been tested using fifteen benchmark problems commonly used literature compare performance network algorithms. In eleven out cases present better or equal results than best ones reported open literature. three presented only marginal differences total annualized cost (lower 0.5%) 2.4% largest one.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

An NLP Approach for Evolution of Heat Exchanger Networks Designed by Pinch Technology

Common methods to design heat exchanger networks (HENs) by pinch technology usually need an evolutionary step to reduce the number of heat transfer units. This step <span style="font-size: 10pt; color:...

wuthering heights and the concept of marality/a sociological study of the novel

to discuss my point, i have collected quite a number of articles, anthologies, and books about "wuthering heights" applying various ideas and theories to this fantastic story. hence, i have come to believe that gadamer and jauss are rightful when they claim that "the individaul human mind is the center and origin of all meaning," 3 that reading literature is a reader-oriented activity, that it ...

Control structure design for optimal operation of heat exchanger networks

When only single bypasses and utility duties are used as manipulations, optimal operation of heat exchanger networks (HENs) can be categorized as an active constraint control problem. This work suggests a simple split-range control scheme to implement the optimal operation. The control structure can be found by solving an integer-linear programming (ILP) problem with two objective functions pro...
