A novel coupling discretization method for modeling multi-phase heat exchangers

This paper presents a novel coupling discretization method for modeling multi-phase heat exchangers. In the method, MBM (Moving Boundary Method) is adopted as solver to solve each of FVCVs (Finite Volume Control Volume) divided by FVM Method). When all are solved, FVCV boundary values updated based on relationships FVCVs. The solving procedure initiated when starting HSF (Hot Source Fluid) and CSF (Cold outlet exchanger given user terminated these no longer change anymore. experimental results plate with R245fa Therminol 66 validate proposed model. Simulation 11 operating conditions show that maximum deviation within ?4% compared measured values. model presented in this appropriate exchangers under either or without fluid phase change, such evaporator condenser ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) system.
