A Novel Condition Monitoring Method of Wind Turbines Based on GMDH Neural Network

The safety of power transmission systems in wind turbines is crucial to the turbine’s stable operation and has attracted a great deal attention condition monitoring farms. Many different intelligent schemes have been developed detect occurrence defects via supervisory control data acquisition (SCADA) data, which most commonly applied system turbines. Normally, artificial neural networks are establish prediction models turbine monitoring. In this paper, an alternative cost-effective methodology proposed, based on group method handling (GMDH) network. GMDH kind computer-based mathematical modelling structural identification algorithm. can automatically organize network architecture by heuristic self-organization methods determine parameters, such as number layers, neurons hidden useful input variables. Furthermore, avoid over-fitting problems, ubiquitous problem networks. effectiveness performance proposed validated case studies.
