A Novel Computational Model for Traction Performance Characterization of Footwear Outsoles with Horizontal Tread Channels

چکیده
Slips and falls are among the most serious public safety hazards. Adequate friction at shoe–floor contact is necessary to reduce these risks. In presence of slippery fluids such as water or oil, footwear outsole crucial for ensuring appropriate traction. While influence flooring contaminants on traction has been extensively studied across several surfaces, limited studies have investigated science design how it affects performance. this work, tread channels a commonly found pattern, i.e., horizontally oriented treads, was varied parametrically widths (i.e., 2, 4, 6 mm) gaps 3, 4 mm). Nine designs were developed their traction, fluid pressures, flow rates during slipping estimated using mechanical slip testing CFD-based computational framework. Outsoles which had wider surfaces showed increased risks wet flooring. with large exhibited performance when slipped (R2 = 0.86). These novel results anticipated provide valuable insights into important guidelines manufacturers optimize surface risk slips falls. addition this, presented framework could help develop better further solve problem.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Performance Model for Vertical Wells with Multi-stage Horizontal Hydraulic Fractures in Water Flooded Multilayer Reservoirs
For the characteristics of horizontal fractures in shallow low-permeability oil layers after hydraulic fracturing in multilayer reservoirs, horizontal fractures are taken equivalent to an elliptical cylinder with the reservoir thickness using the equivalent permeability model; then, upon the elliptic seepage theory, the seepage field which has led by a vertical well with horizontal fractures is...
متن کاملFootwear traction and lower extremity noncontact injury.
PURPOSE Football is the most popular high school sport; however, it has the highest rate of injury. Speculation has been prevalent that foot fixation due to high footwear traction contributes to injury risk. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to determine whether a relationship exists between the athlete's specific footwear traction (measured with their own shoes on the field of play) and ...

Objecttive(s): Despite the poor mechanical properties of hydroxyapatite, its unique biological properties leads we think about study on improving its properties rather than completely replacing it with other biomaterials. Accordingly, in this study we introduced hydroxyapatite reinforced with hardystonite as a novel bio-nanocompositeand evaluate its in-vitro bioactivity with the aim of developi...
متن کاملA Novel Method for Ultrasonic Evaluation of Horizontal Defects Using Time-of-Flight Diffraction
Time-of-flight diffraction method (ToFD) is an amplitude-independent sizing method which is based on the measurement of time-of-flight of defect tip diffracted waves. Although ToFD can measure through-wall length of defect accurately, this method is not capable of measuring horizontal defect size. In this paper, a new ToFD method for evaluating horizontal planar defects is presented. The finite...
