چکیده
This paper describes the transition towards a composite structure, with same overall aerodynamic characteristics, for tail rotor blade of an IAR330 helicopter. The newly proposed structure is made carbon-roving spar embedded epoxy resin, hexagonal-cell honeycomb core manufactured by fused deposition modelling, and outer skin multiple carbon-fibre-reinforced laminae. was authors using hand lay-up method at scale 1:3 respect to real one, all stages manufacturing process are extensively described in paper. experimental tests were performed on Instron 8872 testing machine applying bending force its free edge, similar methodology employed various manufacturers. A three-dimensional numerical model conceived, analysed finite element method, validated comparing values maximum force. Further, used complex analysis that showed very good behaviour during flight emphasized main advantages brought structure.

Design, Fabrication and Testing of the Helicopter Tail Rotor Blade from Composite Laminated Materials
In this paper the design, fabrication and analysis of behavior by full-scale ver-ification testing for the tail rotor blade of composite laminated materials for a heavy transport helicopter is given. The verification test program for the tail rotor blade encompassed static and dynamic test-ing. The static tests of the blade involved experimental evaluation of torsional and flexional blade stif...
متن کاملA moderate deflection composite helicopter rotor blade model with an improved cross-sectional analysis
The compatibility between a composite beam cross-sectional analysis based on the variational asymptotic approach, and a helicopter rotor blade model which is part of a comprehensive rotorcraft analysis code is examined. It was found that the finite element cross-sectional analysis code VABS can be combined with a moderate deflection rotor blade model in spite of the differences between the form...
متن کاملMorphing Helicopter Rotor Blade with Curvilinear Fiber Composites
A variable camber morphing rotor blade with curvilinear fiber composite skin is studied in this paper. The benefits of curvilinear fiber (CVF) composites for morphing skin over the linear fiber are investigated, initially. The skin of a morphing blade is modeled as a plate supported between the D-spar and trailing edge of typical rotor blade dimensions. The CVF composite shows about 60 % increa...
متن کاملHelicopter main rotor blade injury to the head with survival.
Introduction Rotor blade lllJunes are uncommon in the Armed Forces because of continual safety training and protection in relation to the use of helicopters. Rarely, accidents do still happen as a reminder that even with acute awareness of ground movements, incidents will occur. A review of the total United States Army rotor blade accidents between 1972 and 1991 reported 24 strike injuries, 12 ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Stresses in Helicopter Composite blade in Hovering Maneuver
The main purpose of this article is the structural analysis of a composite blade of a selected helicopter. In this study, the stresses on rotors' blades caused by centrifugal forces, lift, drag and torque are analyzed. The governing equations of the structure behavior and solving processes were carried out by MATLAB software, and simulation is carried out by ABAQUS software, and they are compar...
