A nonlinear piezoelectric shunt absorber with 2:1 internal resonance: experimental proof of concept

Abstract An experimental proof of concept a new semi-passive nonlinear piezoelectric shunt absorber, introduced theoretically in companion article, is presented this work. This absorber obtained by connecting, through transducer, an elastic structure to resonant circuit that includes quadratic nonlinearity. nonlinearity including the voltage source proportional square across thanks analog multiplier circuit. Then, tuning electric resonance half value one resonances structure, two-to-one internal at hand. As result, strong energy transfer occurs from mechanical mode be attenuated electrical shunt, leading two essential features: antiresonance place and amplitude saturation. Namely, oscillations becomes, above given threshold, independent forcing level, contrary classical linear shunt. paper presents setup, designed main results.
