A Non-Contact Compact Portable ECG Monitoring System

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have been listed among the most deadly worldwide. Many CVDs are likely to manifest their symptoms some time prior onset of any adverse or catastrophic events, and early detection cardiac abnormalities is incredibly important. However, traditional electrocardiography (ECG) monitoring systems face challenges with respect scalability affordability as they require direct body contact cumbersome equipment. As a step forward from large-scale direct-contact ECG devices, which inconvenient for user in terms wearability portability, this research, we present small-sized, non-contact, real-time recording system mobile long-term signals. The device mainly comprises three non-contact electrodes sense bio-potential signal, an AD8233 AFE IC extract CC2650 MCU read, filter, transmit them. powered by 2000 mAh lithium-ion battery isolation between digital analog powers on board using two low-dropout regulators (LDOs). board’s dimension 8.56 cm × 5.4 cm, size credit card, making it optimal be worn shirt chest pocket. In spite its small form factor, still manages achieve continuous measurement life over 16 h, total harmonic distortion below −30 dB across interested frequency range, input-referred noise low 1.46 µV contacted cases 5.15 through cotton, clear both sensing, all at cost around USD 50.
