چکیده

This work presents new $^{12}$C + reaction rates in the form of numerical tables with associated uncertainty estimation, as well analytical formulae that can be directly implemented into stellar evolution codes. article further describes impact these on C-burning stars. We determine for two cross-section extrapolation models: one based fusion-hindrance phenomenon, and other plus a resonance, compare our results to previous data. Using GENEC code, we study how phases sets models stars 12 M$_{\odot}$ 25 initial masses chosen highly representative diversity massive The effective temperatures both are entirely covered by sensitivity present experimental data, no is required. Although, may differ more than an order magnitude typical C-burning, impacts structures during phase remain modest. consequence readjustment structure change nuclear rate reactions important energy production. For hindrance case, found occur at central 10\% higher resonance rate. Its lifetime reduced factor two. model, nevertheless, loses entropy thus enters earlier degeneracy regime which will last stages pre-core collapse time. model produces up 60% neon. different s-process occurring modest, changing final abundances s-processed elements most 20% (cobalt).

Massive Star Evolution: Nucleosynthesis and Nuclear Reaction Rate Uncertainties

We present a nucleosynthesis calculation of a 25 M star of solar composition that includes all relevant isotopes up to polonium. In particular, all stable isotopes and necessary nuclear reaction rates are covered. We follow the stellar evolution from hydrogen burning till iron core collapse and simulate the explosion using a “piston” approach. We discuss the influence of two key nuclear reactio...

The Impact of Nuclear Reaction Rate Uncertainties on Evolutionary Studies of the Nova Outburst

The observable consequences of a nova outburst depend sensitively on the details of the thermonuclear runaway which initiates the outburst. One of the more important sources of uncertainty is the nuclear reaction data used as input for the evolutionary calculations. A recent paper by Starrfield, Truran, Wiescher, & Sparks [1] has demonstrated that changes in the reaction rate library used withi...

a study on rate making and required reserves determination in reinsurance market: a simulation

reinsurance is widely recognized as an important instrument in the capital management of an insurance company as well as its risk management tool. this thesis is intended to determine premium rates for different types of reinsurance policies. also, given the fact that the reinsurance coverage of every company depends upon its reserves, so different types of reserves and the method of their calc...

Chemical evolution models with a new stellar nucleosynthesis

Numerical models for the chemical evolution of the Galaxy have been computed with the new stellar yields published by Maeder (1992). These metallicity dependent yields represent an important improvement in the chemical evolution of galaxies but there are still uncertainties in the stellar evolution which prevent completely satisfactory results. From the comparison of the model predictions with ...

The Impact of Nuclear Physics during Stellar Core Collapse

Nuclear electron capture and the nuclear equation of state play important roles during the collapse of a massive star and the subsequent supernova. The nuclear equation of state controls the nature of the bounce which initially forms the supernova shock while electron capture determines the location where the shock forms. Advances in nuclear structure theory have allowed a more realistic treatm...
