A new path planning strategy based on level set function for layered fabrication processes

In this paper, a new equidistant filling theory based on the level set function and corresponding numerical algorithm dynamic finite difference method were proposed. Firstly, closed curve is defined as zero-value contour of function. Then, equation, partial differential was built to get function, proposed solve Secondly, three types cross sections, simple polygon, multi-island multi-hole used test effect algorithm. The results show that in paper solved problem these sections well. addition, any complex section can be filled by calculation cost significantly related number offsets, but not directly complexity. Finally, remanufacturing typical crankshaft hot forging die proves effectively produce repair path die. surface remanufactured smooth, there no efects such porosity slag inclusion after machining. Compared with making die, manufacturing saved more than 50%, efficiency improved 60%. This because machining allowance additive very small, it quickly repaired site.
