چکیده

In this study, a new Vairimorpha isolate was defined from Ephestia kuehniella Zeller (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) in Turkey (Malatya). Infection determined the host's hindgut, both larval and adult stages. Two types spore originated polymorphic sporulation detected during observations. While binucleate ovocylindrical fresh spores were measured 4.38 ± 0.31 μm (5.09–3.77 μm, n = 100) length 2.80 0.18 (3.21–2.43 n=100) width, ovoid meiospores as 3.50 0.46 (4.98–2.51 2.02 0.28 (2.94–1.50 width. The multilocus genetic analyses based on SSU rRNA RPB1 genes carried for determining phylogenetic status of current microsporidium. ML BI trees, microsporidium separated into different branch V. necatrix strains within clade

impact of pyriproxyfen and methoxyfenozide on hemocytes of the mediterranean flour moth, ephestia kuehniella (lepidoptera: pyralidae)

the mediterranean flour moth, ephestia kuehniella zeller, is one of the major pests in stored products worldwide. several problems assossiated with the use of conventional insecticides have strongly demonstrated the need for applying alternative safe compounds such as insect growth regulators (igrs). in the present study, growth regulating activity and hematological effects of pyriproxifen and ...

Life tables of Venturia canescens (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) parasitizing the Mediterranean flour moth (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae).

Effects of temperature, adult feeding, and host instar on life table parameters of Venturia canescens Gravenhorst (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) parasitizing larvae of Ephestia kuehniella Zeller (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) were studied in the laboratory. Experimental adults lived under various regimes of temperature (15, 20, 25, and 30 degrees C), food supply (with or without access to honey), and h...

Influence of Larval Density on Biological Fitness of Ephestia Kuehniella Zeller (lepidoptera: Pyralidae)

Mediterranean flour moth, Ephestia kuehniella, is a cosmopolitan pest of stored products, and its eggs are widely used to rear parasitoids and predators for biological control programmes. This experiment investigated how larval population density affected the survival rate and reproductive output of this species under four rearing densities ( larva per 2 g food per vial; or 00, 500 or 000 larva...

Inheritance of a temperature-modified phenotype of the short antennae (sa) mutation in a moth, Ephestia kuehniella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae).

The autosomal recessive mutation short antennae (sa) causes considerable shortening of antennae in male and female Mediterranean flour moths (Ephestia kuehniella Zeller). However, the sa phenotype can be suppressed by several physical factors, making sa moths indistinguishable from wild-type moths (sa(WT)). This can be done by subjecting larva and pupa to a higher temperature (25 degrees C), to...

Insecticidal Activity of the Essential Oils from Different Plants Against Three Stored-Product Insects

This study was conducted to determine the insecticidal activity of essential oils from oregano, Origanum onites L. (Lamiales: Lamiaceae), savory, Satureja thymbra L. (Lamiales: Lamiaceae), and myrtle, Myrtus communis L. (Rosales: Myrtaceae) against three stored-product insects. Essential oils from three species of plants were obtained by Clevenger-type water distillation. The major compounds in...
