چکیده

We have observed an increasing number of patients referred to the Scottish Photobiology Service (SPS), who were later diagnosed with actinic folliculitis (AF) and had positive phototesting results. Treatment options for AF are limited, only a few reports in literature. The use prophylactic narrowband ultraviolet B (NB?UVB) phototherapy has not previously been described, we report on this first time. To analyse clinical characteristics, results responses treatment by SPS. undertook retrospective review over 10 years all case notes assessed through SPS, based at Unit, Dundee, UK. All women. Mean age onset was 25 mean time referral investigation 7 years. commonest site involved face, main feature being monomorphic pustules appearing after sunlight exposure. eruption could be provoked iterative doses broadband UVA irradiation five patients. offered photoprotective advice NB?UVB phototherapy. Five proceeded phototherapy; four these completed desensitization course reported either delay symptom or total prevention rash induction, complete efficacy maintained 3 one patient. demonstrate successful provocation testing as diagnostic tool AF. Additionally, recommend effective well?tolerated approach.

Disseminated Superficial Actinic Porokeratosis in a Patient with Psoriasis, after Long-Term Narrowband Ultraviolet B Phototherapy

Porokeratosis is a rare epidermal disorder characterized by annular or linear hyperkeratotic plaques with slightly raised thread-like borders, and in most cases, atrophic centers. Disseminated superficial porokeratosis and disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP), which primarily involve sun-exposed areas, are common types of porokeratoses. Histologically, a column of parakeratotic...

Targeted broadband ultraviolet b phototherapy produces similar responses to targeted narrowband ultraviolet B phototherapy for vitiligo: a randomized, double-blind study.

UNLABELLED Narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy, with a 308-nm xenon chloride excimer laser, and targeted UVB phototherapy have produced encouraging therapeutic results for vitiligo. However, very few studies employing broadband UVB exist. Moreover, there has been no direct comparison study between broadband UVB and NB-UVB for the treatment of vitiligo. The aims of this study were to ...

Narrowband ultraviolet B phototherapy and 308-nm excimer laser in the treatment of vitiligo: a review.

Vitiligo is a common and chronic disease with a great impact on patients' quality of life. Phototherapy with narrowband ultraviolet B radiation and excimer laser are two treatment modalities that are used increasingly for the management of the disease with variable results. In this article, we review the efficacy, adverse effects, and possible mechanisms of action of narrowband ultraviolet B an...
