A multi-criteria decision-making framework and analysis of vegetable oils to produce bio-based plastics

In the present paper, suitability of selected oilseeds, their corresponding vegetable oils, and few other raw materials to produce bio-based plastics was evaluated by constructing a novel criteria-based framework for Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) analysis with focus on criteria chemical functionality, sustainability, production quantity, cost, market availability. Qualitative, semi-quantitative, quantitative data utilized as base criteria, which 1–5–9 scaling technique developed convert hybrid starting into form, when required. Additionally, two varying sets data, four scenarios differing weights importance, well different MCDM techniques, namely Technique Order Preference Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), were used form sensitivity analysis.
