A Mini Review on Antiwetting Studies in Membrane Distillation for Textile Wastewater Treatment

The textile industry is an important contributor to the growth of global economy. However, a huge quantity wastewater generated as by-product during manufacturing, which hinders ongoing development in terms environmental sustainability. Membrane distillation (MD), driven by thermal-induced vapor pressure difference, being considered emerging economically viable technology treat for water reuse. So far, massive efforts have been put into new membrane material developments and modifications surface. wetting, direct feed solution transport through pores leading failure separation, remains one main challenges success potential commercialization this separation process contains wetting inducing surfactants. Herein, review presents current progress on MD treatment with particular focuses fundamentals types membranes applied well fabrication or modification anti-wetting properties. This article aims at providing insights design enhance performance towards commercial application treatment.
