Calculation of Quasi-one-dimensional Interacting Electron Gas Using the Hartree-Fock Method
In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...
متن کاملDimensional Reduction of Two-Dimensional Anyons to a One-Dimensional Interacting Bose Gas
We conjecture that a two-dimensional anyon system reduces, when confined to a narrow channel, to a one-dimensional bose gas with a repulsive two-body δ-function interaction. We verify this conjecture in first-order perturbation theory near bosons. If the channel width is reduced to zero, the one-dimensional system is fermionic for all anyons other than bosons. متن کاملWeakly interacting Bose gas in the one-dimensional limit.
We prepare a chemically and thermally one-dimensional (1D) quantum degenerate Bose gas in a single microtrap. We introduce a new interferometric method to distinguish the quasicondensate fraction of the gas from the thermal cloud at finite temperature. We reach temperatures down to kT≈0.5ℏω(⊥) (transverse oscillator eigenfrequency ω(⊥)) when collisional thermalization slows down as expected in ...
متن کاملInteracting one-dimensional electron gas with open boundaries.
We discuss the properties of interacting electrons on a finite chain with open boundary conditions. We extend the Haldane Luttinger liquid description to these systems and study how the presence of the boundaries modifies various correlation functions. In view of possible experimental applications to quantum wires, we analyse how tunneling measurements can reveal the underlying Luttinger liquid...
متن کاملDomain-wall scattering in an interacting one-dimensional electron gas
We study the transport in a Luttinger liquid coupled to a magnetic chain containing a Bloch domain wall. We compute the leading correction to the adiabatic limit of a long domain wall, which causes no scattering. We show that the problem is reminiscent of an impurity in a Luttinger liquid, but with a different dependence on the interaction parameters due to spin-flip scattering. For repulsive i...
