چکیده

For several decades, class F fly ash has been an attractive supplementary cementitious material, at least in part, due to its ability reduce Portland cement consumption and mitigate alkali-silica reactions concrete. However, availability is becoming uncertain as the energy industry decommissions coal burning power plants it transitions renewable production. This situation creates a need identify viable sustainable alternative materials. There are types of materials, such natural pozzolans, metakaolin, or ground granulated blast-furnace slag, which appear be potential alternatives In this research, locally available pozzolan (pumicite) was selected replace After conducting reaction tests on mortar mixtures, rheological strength properties, shrinkage, resistance freezing thawing, chloride ion permeability concrete mixtures containing different amounts were evaluated. The results showed that pumicite more effective than mitigating reaction, content 20% necessary reaction. Ternary both most materials combinations for expansion. Additionally, provided acceptable compressive modulus rupture values (greater 4.0 MPa) exceeded flexural strengths by established only ash. Shrinkage durability factor all less 710 μstrain greater 75, generally considered acceptable. with expansions had very low permeability. These indicate can reliable

Portland Cement Pervious Concrete: A Field Experience from Sioux City

Portland Cement Pervious Concrete (PCPC) is becoming more utilized across the U.S. due to increased requirements for stormwater management. This paper details the experience of the installation of a PCPC test section/parking area in Sioux City, Iowa. In order to evaluate a large number of mixture designs, the test section incorporated five different mixtures, each placed with and without air en...

Using Different Methods of Nanofabrication as a New Way to Activate Supplementary Cementitious Materials; a Review

Reducing the consumption of cement with simultaneous utilizing waste materials as cement replacement is preferred for reasons of environmental protection. Blended cements consist of different supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), such as fly ash, silica fume, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS), natural pozzolans, etc. These materials should be chemically activated to show effec...

EFFICIENCY FACTOR OF SUPPLEMENTARY CEMENTITIOUS MATERIALS: A STATE OF ART

The use of supplementary cementing materials is gradually increasing due to technical, economical, and environmental benefits. Supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) are most commonly used in producing ready mixed concrete (RMC). A quantitative understanding of the efficiency of SCMs as a mineral admixture in concrete is essential for its effective utilisation. The performance and effective...
