A Linguistic Analysis of Humor Found in It Crowd Sitcom

This study aims to analyze the Semantic Mechanism of Humor in IT Crowd sitcom, and also find out deviations linguistic elements contained humor. In this study, sources data were humorous dialogues sitcom using descriptive methods. The results show that found all conversations including lexical ambiguity (LA), causal fallacy (CF), presupposition (Pr), locutionary (Lc), topic progression (TP). addition, a semantic mechanism humor is needed because from one can understand what causes be funny. After understanding mechanism, then we know expectations are humor, research shows most occurs due appearance unexpected meaning [M2] expected [M1].
