چکیده

Abstract In this paper, modelling of the superposition stress-induced and inherent anisotropy soil small strain stiffness is presented in framework hyperelasticity. A simple hyperelastic model, capable reproducing variable stiffness, extended by replacement stress invariant with mixed stress–microstructure to introduce constant cross-anisotropic component. convenient feature new model low number material constants directly related parameters commonly used literature. The proposed description can be incorporated as a elastic core development some more sophisticated hyperelastic-plastic models overconsolidated soils. It also an independent analyses involving problems, such dynamic simulations wave propagation. Various options features anisotropic are investigated. directional response compared experimental data available

On Stress Anlysis for a Hyperelastic Material

Performing a finite element analysis (FEA) on a hyperelastic material is difficult due to nonlinearity, large deformation, and material instability. This paper provides a brief review of the hyperelastic theory and discusses several important issues that should be addressed when using ANSYS. Analysis on a fatigue specimen is used as an example of one of our product development challenges upon w...

A Multi Plane Model for Natural Anisotropy of Sand

Anisotropy of sand is mainly due to the geometrical arrangement of particles that depends on the orientation of applied load respect to the bedding plane. It is geologically due to micro-fabric created by the arrangement of the particles configured during deposition. Most of the models develop using stress/strain invariants are not capable of identifying this kind of anisotropy. This is mainly ...

Stretch-induced stress patterns and wrinkles in hyperelastic thin sheets

Wrinkles are commonly observed in stretched thin sheets and membranes. This paper presents a numerical study on stretch-induced wrinkling of hyperelastic thin sheets based on nonlinear finite element analyses. The model problem is set up for uniaxial stretching of a rectangular sheet with two clamped ends and two free edges. A two-dimensional stress analysis is performed first under the plane-s...

Predicting stress-induced anisotropy around a borehole

Formation elastic properties near a borehole may be altered from their original state due to the stress concentration around the borehole. This could result in a biased estimation of formation properties but could provide a means to estimate in situ stress from sonic logging data. In order to properly account for the formation property alteration, we propose an iterative numerical approach to c...
