چکیده
A particle impact damper (PID) dissipates the vibration energy of a structure through impacts within damper. The PID is not commonly used in practice mainly because its low damping-to-mass ratio and difficulty achieving optimal design due to nonlinear characteristics. In contrast, Coulomb friction (FD) can offer higher damping force-to-mass than other dampers, but it also difficult be controlled precisely characteristics excessive frequency sensitivity regarding resonant frequency. This paper examines hybrid by combining (PID + FD) theoretically experimentally. theoretical model proposed developed tested numerically on single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) structure. predicted results are validated experimental tests prototype force provided FD varied adjusting normal applied compression spring, while dissipation changing cavity size PID. parametric analysis has been performed. reduce maximum amplitude SDOF primary 66% 43% compared with using only. found effective over wide range excitation frequencies. Furthermore, achieves similar suppression performance traditional tuned mass (TMD) ratio. does require an optimally natural damping, unlike TMD, therefore have detuning problem associated TMD. addition, TMD for random earthquake data. Consequently, may simpler better alternative passive control applications.

Hybrid Dynamic Simulation of Rigid-Body Contact with Coulomb Friction
This paper introduces a hybrid scheme for simulating rigid bodies in contact. W e use (cm adaptive strategy for handling two different contact situations, 'bouncing' and 'steady'. To handle contact f o r rigid bodies, we use two impulse-based methods to explicitiy or implicitly compute impulses due to collision impact. These two methods are used so that different impulse methods are applied ada...

We propose a Langevin model with Coulomb friction. Through the analysis of the corresponding Fokker-Planck equation, we have obtained the steady velocity distribution function under the influence of the external field.

The paper deals with a discrete model of a two-dimensional Signorini problem with Coulomb friction and a coefficient of friction F depending on the spatial variable. It is shown that a solution exists for any F and is unique if F is sufficiently small. We also prove that this unique solution is a Lipschitz continuous function of F . Numerical realization is done by the piecewise smooth Newton m...

In this paper modeling of rotating seal and friction damper is explained using NX7.5 and ANSYS130x64 software. Modeling of any component is very important in analysis of the component. Analysis of rotating seal and damper is carried out using ANSYS130x64 to calculate stiffness of friction damper. Various authors explained methods to calculate stiffness of friction damper. In this paper a method...
