A Grounded Theory Exploration of Language Massive Open Online Courses (LMOOCs): Understanding Students’ Viewpoints

Massive open online courses (MOOCs) have been called the biggest innovation in education 200 years for their unique attribute of being and free to any individual with Internet access; however, high dropout rate has led many people be concerned or dubious about effectiveness applicability. The applicability MOOCs English specific purposes (ESP) (in this case, hospitality English) needs more empirical evidence; present study intends help fill gap extend our current understanding issue. This followed a grounded theory methodology develop theoretical model based on constant dialogue between collected data literature. results suggest that most participants had positive perceptions language (LMOOCs) general, but some doubted Most said they would continue use LMOOCs learning, depending attributes courses. Based extracted data, conceptual is proposed.
