چکیده

This article presents a data-startable baseband logic featuring gated oscillator clock and data recovery (GO-CDR) circuit for nanowatt wake-up receivers (WuRxs). At each transition, the phase misalignment between coming from analog front-end (AFE) is cleared by GO-CDR circuit, thus allowing reception of long streams. Any free-running frequency mismatch GO bitrate does not limit number receivable bits, but only maximum equal consecutive bits (Nm). To overcome this limitation, proposed system includes calibration which reduces to ±0.5%, enabling WuRx be used with different encoding techniques up Nm = 100. A full prototype, including an always-on clockless AFE operating in subthreshold, was fabricated STMicroelectronics 90 nm BCD technology. The supplied 0.6 V, power consumption, excluding 12.8 nW during rest state 17 at 1 kbps rate. With On-Off Keying (OOK) modulated input −35 dBm RF after matching network (IMN), 10−3 missed detection rate 0 bit error tolerance measured, transmitting 63 packets ranging 63. total sensitivity, estimated IMN gain 100 MHz 433 MHz, −59.8 −52.3 dBm, respectively. In comparison ideal CDR, degradation sensitivity due 1.25 dBm. False alarm measurements lasting 24 h revealed zero overall false wake-ups.

A 3.2Gb/s Clock and Data Recovery Circuit Without Reference Clock for a High-Speed Serial Data Link

A 3.2Gb/s clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit for a high-speed serial link without the reference clock is described. The CDR has a phase and frequency detector (PD and FD), which incorporates a half-rate bang-bang type oversampling PD and a half-rate frequency detector that can achieve low-jitter operation and improve pull-in range. The PD of oversamping method finds a phase error by generati...

A 4-Gb/s CMOS Clock and Data Recovery Circuit Using 1=8-Rate Clock Technique

A 4-Gb/s clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit is realized in a 0.25m standard CMOS technology. The CDR circuit exploits 1 8-rate clock technique to facilitate the design of a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) and to eliminate the need of 1:4 demultiplexer, thereby achieving low power consumption. The VCO incorporates the ring oscillator configuration with active inductor loads, generating fo...

Injection-Locked Clock Recovery Using a Multiplexed Oscillator for Half-Rate Data-Recovered Applications

An injection-locked clock recovery circuit (CRC) with quadrature outputs based on multiplexed oscillator is presented. The CRC can operate at a half-rate speed to provide an adequate locking range with reasonable jitter and power consumption because both clock edges sample the data waveforms. Implemented by 0.18-μm CMOS technique, experimental results demonstrate that it can achieve the phase n...

A CMOS Clock and Data Recovery Circuit with a Half-Rate Three-State Phase Detector

A clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit using a new halfrate wide-range phase detection technique has been developed. Unlike the conventional three-state phase detectors, the proposed detector is applicable to the Non-Return-to-Zero (NRZ) data stream and also has low jitter and wide capture range characteristics. The CDR circuit was implemented in a 0.35-μm N-well CMOS technique. Experimental r...
