چکیده
This works proposes a novel approach to develop higher-order finite elements by taking progressive damage into account in the formulation. The is based on Carrera’s unified formulation (CUF) while model continuum mechanics (CDM) principles, which implemented as UEL (User Element subroutine) written FORTRAN and linked Abaqus. assessed simulating plate under distributed sinusoidal loads. Besides, analysis of composite coupon three-point bending simulated, numerical predictions are compared against experimental results, showing good correlation. main findings show that accurate fast enough predict failure events in-plane mechanisms for laminates loadings. • A with CUF developed. integrated framework implements single subroutine. All steps subroutine explained detail. Results validated findings.

[Article] A finite element model using a unified formulation for the analysis of viscoelastic sandwich laminates
In this paper we present a layerwise finite element model for the analysis of sandwich laminated plates with a viscoelastic core and laminated anisotropic face layers. The stiffness and mass matrices of the element are obtained by the Carrera’s Unified formulation (CUF). The dynamic problem is solved in the frequency domain with viscoelastic frequency-dependent material properties for the core....
متن کاملBending Analysis of Composite Sandwich Plates with Laminated Face Sheets: New Finite Element Formulation
The bending behavior of composites sandwich plates with multi-layered laminated face sheets has been investigated, using a new four-nodded rectangular finite element formulation based on a layer-wise theory. Both, first order and higher-order shear deformation; theories are used in order to model the face sheets and the core, respectively. Unlike any other layer-wise theory, the number of degre...

Finite element formulations based generally on classical beam theories such as Euler-Bernoulli or Timoshenko. Sometimes, these two formulations could be problematic expressed in terms of restrictions of Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, in case of thicker beams due to non-consideration of transverse shear; phenomenon that is known as shear locking characterized the Timoshenko beam theory, in case of...
