چکیده
Mite management is a major problem in pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) cultivation the arid and semi-arid regions of India other Asian countries. The aim this work was to investigate susceptibility false spider mite (Tenuipalpus punicae) germplasm collection Indian pomegranates. A field screening 73 accessions allowed define different classes (from very low high) based on percentage infested leaves. Twenty-two accessions, representative empirically identified five classes, were further tested. against mite, extended another two years, showed that infestation level did not display significant interaction with growing season, highly correlated between seasons. analysis tree vegetative growth (height, canopy size, stem diameter), main phytochemical (total phenolics, flavonoids, tannins) antioxidant activity leaves indicated strong negative correlations biochemical traits. Multidimensional reduction measured traits revealed extreme mites are mainly separated according accumulation phytochemicals This work, for first time, identification T. punicae, positive useful implications establishment new orchards, plant breeding, allelochemicals directly affecting mites.
