A Feasibility Study on CHP Systems for Hotels in the Maltese Islands: A Comparative Analysis Based on Hotels’ Star Rating

In Europe, the energy consumed for heating and cooling purposes by hospitality sector is significant. island economies such as that of Mediterranean Island Malta, where Tourism considered essential to local economy, consumption perhaps even more significant, energy-efficient systems, or use renewable energy, are often listed possible solutions counter this. Based on this premise, research contained in paper presents an investigation technical financial feasibility using Combined Heat Power (CHP) Cooling, Heating, (CCHP) systems Malta. Using a supply–demand design methodology, made software package RETScreen model electrical thermal demand number hotels ranging from 3- 5-star hotels. these modelled hotels, different scenarios were simulated analyze implications installing CHP A parameters, including size matching, presence grants, electricity tariffs, feed-in fuel prices, tested out total 144 scenarios.
