A detector-based measurement theory for quantum field theory

چکیده
We propose a measurement theory for quantum fields based on measurements made with localized nonrelativistic systems that couple covariantly to (like the Unruh-DeWitt detector). Concretely, we analyze positive operator-valued measure induced field when an idealized is carried out detector after it coupled field. Using information-theoretic approach, provide relativistic analogue quantum-mechanical L\"uders update rule state following detector. argue this proposal has all desirable characteristics of proper theory. In particular does not suffer from ``impossible measurements'' problem pointed by Rafael Sorkin in 1990s which shows cannot be used

Wavelet-Based Quantum Field Theory
The Euclidean quantum field theory for the fields φ∆x(x), which depend on both the position x and the resolution ∆x, constructed in SIGMA 2 (2006), 046, on the base of the continuous wavelet transform, is considered. The Feynman diagrams in such a theory become finite under the assumption there should be no scales in internal lines smaller than the minimal of scales of external lines. This regu...
متن کاملQuantum field theory for discrepancies
The concept of discrepancy plays an important rôle in the study of uniformity properties of point sets. For sets of random points, the discrepancy is a random variable. We apply techniques from quantum field theory to translate the problem of calculating the probability density of (quadratic) discrepancies into that of evaluating certain path integrals. Both their perturbative and non-perturbat...
متن کاملField beables for quantum field theory
The deBroglie-Bohm pilot-wave theory is an interpretation of quantum theory in which the observer plays no fundamental role. In a pilot-wave theory, quantum systems are not only described by the state vector, but also by some additional variables. These additional variables, also called beables, can be particle positions, field configurations, strings, etc. In this paper we focus our attention ...
