چکیده

The genus Dalbergia has a pantropical distribution and comprises approximately 250 species. Previous phylogenetic studies on the revealed that is monophyletic sister to Machaerium Aeschynomene sect. Ochopodium. However, due limited samples or DNA regions in these studies, relationships among major clades are still unresolved, divergence dates biogeographical history of have not been addressed. In this study, analyses were conducted using broad taxon sampling combined dataset two plastid markers (matK rbcL) one nuclear marker (ITS). We evaluated infrageneric classification based reconstructed tree, investigated through molecular dating ancestral area reconstruction analyses. monophyly was strongly supported resolved into five with high support, several which correspond previous recognized sections. inferred originated South America during Early Miocene (c. 22.9 Ma) achieved its current multiple recent transoceanic long-distance dispersals (LDD). highlighted important historical events may explain pattern Dalbergia.

Phylogeny and historical biogeography of the paper wasp genus Polistes (Hymenoptera: Vespidae): implications for the overwintering hypothesis of social evolution

The phylogeny of the paper wasp genus Polistes is investigated using morphological and behavioural characters, as well as molecular data from six genes (COI, 12S, 16S, 28S, H3, and EF1-a). The results are used to investigate the following evolutionary hypotheses about the genus: (i) that Polistes first evolved in Southeast Asia, (ii) that dispersal to the New World occurred only once, and (iii)...

Implications of Rbcl Phylogeny for Historical Biogeography of Genus Mercurialis L.: Estimating Age and Center of Origin

The aim of this study was to address questions concerning the historical biogeography of the genus Mercurialis in the subfamily Acalyphoideae. Applying a molecular clock to obtained rbcL phylogeny, we estimated the minimal age of divergence of genus Mercurialis to ~65-66 Ma, placing it at the Cretaceous/Paleogene boundary. We used ancestral area analysis and dispersal-vicariance analysis to inf...

A molecular phylogeny of Caraganeae (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae) reveals insights into new generic and infrageneric delimitations

Based on sequence data of nuclear ITS and plastid matK, trnL-F and psbA-trnH markers, the phylogeny of the subtribes Caraganinae and Chesneyinae in tribe Caraganeae was inferred. The results support the monophyly of each of the subtribes. Within subtribes Caraganinae, Calophaca and Halimodendron are herein transferred into Caragana to ensure its generic monophyly. The subtribe Chesneyinae is co...

Molecular phylogeny and historical biogeography of the Holarctic wetland leaf beetle of the genus Plateumaris.

Leaf beetles of the genus Plateumaris inhabit wetlands across the temperate zone of the Holarctic region. To explore the phylogeographic relationships among North American, East Asian, and European members of this genus and the origin of the species endemic to Japan, we studied the molecular phylogeny of 20 of the 27 species in this genus using partial sequences of mitochondrial cytochrome oxid...

Biogeography and divergence times of genus Macroptilium (Leguminosae)

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Macroptilium is a herbaceous legume genus with 18 currently accepted species, seven of them with economic importance due to their use as forage, green fertilizer and in medicine. The genus is strictly American, with an unknown biogeographic history. The aim of this study was to infer a biogeographic pattern of Macroptilium and to estimate its divergence times, using sequence...
