A damage model for granite subjected to quasi?static contact loading

چکیده

An anisotropic damage model is employed in order to simulate the fracture pattern of Bohus granite under quasi-static (Q-S) spherical indentation loading. The chosen description added previously Drucker–Prager (DP) plasticity with variable dilation angle. resulting constitutive implemented behavior up load capacity material. initial fragmentation, corresponding first small load-drop force–penetration curve, likely due high radial tensile stress state at or close contact boundary. Both predicted and results from numerical simulation are compared experimental data a good agreement found. variability strength material included by taking advantage Weibull statistics. In this work, it suggested that test themselves may be used calibrate statistical distribution size scales such as applications.
