A Crystal Plasticity Simulation on Strain-Induced Martensitic Transformation in Crystalline TRIP Steel by Coupling with Cellular Automata

In transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) steel, the strain-induced martensitic transformation (SIMT) has a close relationship with shear band formation. At small length scale such as that of crystal, explicit analysis structure formed microstructure is quite important for an adequate understanding SIMT. Here, study on microstructures by SIMT, related to formation in both single and polycrystal TRIP steels, presented. The constitutive equation crystal steel considering strain each variant system derived based rate-dependent theory. To express transformation, cellular automata approach, including criterion acting local rule, introduced. Numerical simulation conducted patterning processes phase at infinite medium under plane tension. It found similar distributions plastic are dependent initial orientation appear structures. addition, sizes embryo cell strongly influence volume fraction steel.
