A crystal plasticity phenomenological model to capture the non-linear shear response of carbon fibre reinforced composites

چکیده

A hardening response is often observed for shear-dominated large deformation of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastics (CFRP). This non-linear modelled by fitting a strain law against experimental stress-strain curves. Inspired crystal plasticity framework, phenomenological model developed to capture matrix shearing and fibre rotation CFRP under finite strain. first verified simple shear transverse compression tests, followed comprehensive validations measured responses unidirectional (UD) cross-ply composite laminates subjected quasi-static loading. The analytical element predictions lamina loading confirm that the initial yielding governed yield strength matrix, while behaviour dependent on modulus carbon fibres. accurately predicts off-axis without need an empirical curve-fitted law.

Image Characterization of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Composites

A new methodology to detect fibres orientation in composite materials, using image processing tools is introduced. Several examples with manufacturing defects are studied using RIMAPS technique and the Variogram method. The characterization is made from digitized images of the samples. Combined use of RIMAPS and Variogram analyses identified the orientation of fibres and determined the values o...

Properties of Hemp Fibre Reinforced Concrete Composites

This research is concerned with the mechanical and physical properties of hemp fibre reinforced concrete (HFRC). An experimental program was developed based on the statistical method of fractional factors design. The variables for the experimental study were: 1) mixing method; 2) fibre content by weight; 3) aggregate size; and 4) fibre length. Their effects on the compressive and flexural perfo...

Oil-Palm-Fibre Reinforced Phenolformaldehyde Composites

Thermophysical properties such as, effective thermal conductivity (A,,) and effective thermal diffusivity (Xc) of untreated reinforced phenol formaldehyde with different weight per centages of oil-palmfibre (x) are measured simultaneously using the transient plane source (TPS) technique between 80 to 120"C. The composites investigated contain 20, 30 and 50 weight per centage of oil-palm-fibre. ...
