Abstract Part of T. M. Scanlon’s project in What We Owe to Each Other (1998) is explain the importance and priority moral reasons. But Scanlon also argues that this reasons compatible with pursuit other things we value, such as friendship. To end, claims contractualist internally accommodate our interests values.
