A conceptual review of sustainable electrical power generation from biogas

High-energy demand with rapid industrialization and mechanization combined environmental pollution due to the burning of fossil fuels has driven a shift toward renewable energy. Biogas derived from biomass is potential energy source that can be used in different sectors such as transportation sector, electricity generation, heat production, power (CHP) systems, fuel cells. Moreover, upgraded biogas applied via an internal combustion chamber (for engine (ICE) vehicles), station electric vehicles). In present work, conceptual review biogas-based electrical production systems presented. It clear conventional types contain high amount pollutants unwanted constituents, which lower heating value (LHV) fuel. exergy efficiencies applications are influenced by these components. Consequently, several biogas-upgrading technologies have been elaborated increase LHV removing pollutants. So, analyses biogas-driven plants discussed this regard. Also, economic analysis biogas-fueled measured through connection between purchased power, selling additional biogas. represents important shown before, it helps waste management W-to-E (waste energy) conversion, allows utilizing huge amounts wastes instead disposal or landfill procedures. However, handling utilization impact on environment. Therefore, assessment impacts addition, combination other sources, especially sources (eg, solar-biogas, geothermal-biogas, wind-biogas, CHP, CCHP, concentrated photovoltaic-biogas), reusing for tasks employing gas turbine) examined.
