A Comparison of Front-End Amplifiers for Tetrapolar Bioimpedance Measurements

چکیده
Many commercial benchtop impedance analyzers are incapable of acquiring accurate tetrapolar measurements, when large electrode contact impedances present, as in bioimpedance measurements using electrodes with micrometer-sized features. External front-end amplifiers can help overcome this issue and provide high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) input impedance. Several discrete component-based topologies proposed the literature. In article, these compared new alternatives regard to their performance measuring known loads presence models, emulate measurements. These models derived from bipolar taken a sensor. Comparison other used literature established that is good challenging model for amplifier evaluation. Among examined amplifiers, one best performances achieved based on custom no external resistors (AD8066/AD8130). Under specific testing conditions, it an uncalibrated worst-case absolute measurement deviation 4.4% magnitude 4° at 20 Hz, 2.2% 7° 1 MHz accordingly between 10 ? kg. Finally, practical use analyzer demonstrated characterization sensor, saline solutions varying conductivities (2.5-20 mS/cm) obtain its cell constant. This article serves guide evaluating choosing both without practical/clinical applications material/sensor characterization.

Reply: Vertical segmental tetrapolar bioimpedance for excess body fat assessment in adolescents.
The questions presented by Professor Dr. Roberto Fernandes da Costa and Dr. Edilson Serpeloni Cyrino are relevant and, Regarding the statistical analysis, we used a stringent sampling procedure and data that met specific requirements, namely: (a) the dependent variables were quantitative and continuous, and were measured in at least one interval scale; (b) there was homoscedasticity based on Le...

OBJECTIVE To analyze the predictive capacity of the vertical segmental tetrapolar bioimpedance apparatus in the detection of excess weight in adolescents, using tetrapolar bioelectrical impedance as a reference. METHODS This was a cross-sectional study conducted with 411 students aged between 10 and 14 years, of both genders, enrolled in public and private schools, selected by a simple and st...
