A Comparison Between Functional Results in Intra-Articular Displaced Calcaneus Fractures Managed with Conservative and Operative Treatment: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Aim: To make a comparison between functional results in intra-articular displaced calcaneus fractures which are treated conservatively and operative treatment Study design: A randomized controlled trial Place Duration:This study was conducted at ward 17 JPMC Karachi from January 20221 to 2022. Methodology: This includes 32 individuals who had calcaneal fractures. These were classified into two groups, each group with 16 individuals. They randomly assigned either or conservative treatment. Clinical results, as well radiological (Modified Rowe’s score), assessed 1-year follow-up. Results: All measured using Modified score. With follow-up of the group, according score, 6 excellent representing 37.5%, 8 good 50%, only 2 satisfactory 12.5%. On other hand, 12.5%, 7 43.75%, 5 31.25%, poor few challenges seen group. In delayed wound healing complication cases while peroneal tendonitis, subtalar arthritis malunion complication.
