A comparative study of postpartum intrauterine contraceptive device acceptance between vaginal delivery and caesarean delivery of women in a 2nd tire Government hospital in West Bengal, India

Background: About third fourth of the world’s population lines in developing countries. Indian contributes 17.7% world population. Family planning is key factor for declining It related to every phase maternity cycle i.e., antenatal, intranatal, postnatal or postpartum. IUCD one most effective reversible contraceptive method family program. Methods: was comparative study conducted over a period two years at Gynae & Obstetrics department second-tier hospital WB India. Total 984 women had PPIUCD insertion immediately after delivery placenta vaginal (group A) and caesarean section B) applying inclusion exclusion criteria. All are counseled who delivered this mentioned period, were included study. Medical eligibility criteria used selection.Results: Around 50% total both groups accepted PPIUCD. There 68% approximately virginally. In primiparous acceptance 45.5%.
