A comparative Study of Ecological Risk Index for Site-specific Soil Ecological Risk Assessment

چکیده
Objectives : Since the risk of pollutants in soil environment may vary depending on characteristics, functions, and environmental conditions soil, site-specific ecological assessment (SERA) should be conducted to protect ecosystem from pollutants. It has been confirmed that each country is conducting SERAs based guidelines suitable for their own conditions. However, Korea, there a lack basis introducing SERA, therefore, development techniques SERA which domestic required. Accordingly, this study aimed propose direction guideline SERA.Methods This investigated analyzed indices SERA. The factors were classified chemical, toxicological, integrated evaluations. Results Discussion For chemical indices, they have limitations it difficult reflect characteristics cannot indicate relation with receptors, although can calculate contamination level rapidly. toxicological effect pollutions receptors. are also reproduce target site. While require along analysis. They found quantify complex contaminations reflecting soils receptors. Conclusion assessment.

Ecological risk assessment of heavy metals in landfill soil of Tehran and its adjacent residential area
Background and Objective: Landfills as municipal solid waste are considered as the source of pollution. The present study aimed to assess the ecological risk of heavy metals in Tehran landfill soil and the adjacent residential area. Materials and Methods: Having consulted with the specialists and considered the waste processing facilities, 12 sampling points were selected and sampled in four s...
متن کاملEcological risk assessment of heavy metals from cement factory dust
Background: The release of metals from industrial factories is one of the most important sources of environmental pollution. The present study aimed to determine the concentration of heavy metals like cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), and lead (Pb) in dust around the cement factory. Methods: A total of 22 dust samples were collected from areas around the cement factory...

Yellow perch (YP) are metal tolerant fish that form large populations in many metal-impacted regions across Canada. While they are able to survive and reproduce successfully in environments with water and sediment metal concentrations that are toxic to many invertebrates, perch experience a suite of direct and indirect impacts. YP were studied in a series of Canadian Precambrian Shield lakes ne...
