چکیده
Epidural analgesia using local anaesthetic agent is popular simple, effective & economical way of providing postoperative analgesia. In few previous study opioids were added with anaesthetics, so that even small doses can provide profound longer duration less side effects. We compared the efficacy epidural butophanol tramadol as adjuvant bupivacaine, for in view safety profile among opioids. Sixty patients undergoing pelvi-acetabular surgery randomly assigned into two groups B T double blinded fashion. Group received 2ml Butorphanol (2mg) group tramadol(100mg) 8ml Bupivacaine (0.125%) first does. 1ml (1mg) 1 ml Tramadol(50mg) 9ml subsequent does when VAS>4. Quality assessed VAS 24hours. Duration calculated by time request. Post-operative nausea vomiting sedation compared. Both butorphanol adequate but significantly lesser requirement analgesic was observed to B. about 6-7 hour 8-9 hours. More PONV more seen. Therefore, it suggests bupivacaine has better quality comparison tramadol. Although causes significant vomiting.

A Comparative Study between Epidural Butorphanol, Nalbuphine, and Fentanyl for Post-operative Analgesia in Lower Abdominal Surgeries
Background: Achieving satisfactory post-operative analgesia with neuraxial administration of narcotics has been the subject of much research. The use of epidural opioids had become an increasingly popular technique for management of acute post-operative pain in recent times. This study evaluates post-operative analgesic benefits in patients administered epidural butorphanol, nalbuphine, and fen...

Introduction: Butorphanol, an opioid derivative has been shown to have, in addition to its analgesic properties, several other advantageous effects like antistressor, sedative and anti-shivering action. The efficacy and safety profile of ketorolac, yet another widely used post-operative analgesic is well documented. This study aims to compare the two analgesics. Aims and objectives: This study ...
متن کاملQuality of post-operative analgesia after epidural dexmedetomidine and ketamine: A comparative pilot study
Hip fractures are intensely painful, so post‐operative analgesia is an integral part of patient care for early rehabilitation and mobility.[1] Local anaesthetics with epidural additives ideally should provide stable haemodynamics and prolonged analgesia. There is limited literature comparing dexmedetomidine and ketamine as epidural additives. We conducted a study of continuous epidural infusion...
متن کاملNeostigmine as an Adjuvant to Epidural Anaesthesia With 0.5% Bupivacaine for Vaginal Hysterectomy: A Comparative Study
Various drugs have been used as epidural adjuvants to enhance the quality and duration of surgical anaesthesia. We aimed at evaluating the effects of Neostigmine, an acetylcholine esterase inhibitor, as an adjuvant to epidural anaesthesia with 0.5% Bupivacaine for vaginal hysterectomy. In this clinical comparative randomized study, 60 ASA I & II patients requiring vaginal hysterectomy were rand...
