چکیده
Recently, 360° or omnidirectional videos have become increasingly popular for both personal and enterprize use-cases. However, video streaming has very high bandwidth processing requirements. State-of-the-art viewport-based solutions lower these requirements by performing selective based on long-term Field-of-View (FoV) prediction mechanisms. sometimes user movement is extremely unpredictable during some parts of the video, applying adversely affects overall quality experience (QoE). This paper proposes a novel Combined tile-based adaptive solution (CFOV) that improves end-user QoE streaming. CFOV performs interactive tile selection more accurate dynamical viewing area identification combining results two FoV It also employs an innovative priority-based bitrate adaptation approach ensures improved budget distribution between different tiles. We evaluate proposed with comprehensive set experiments involving four immersive videos, diverse tiling patterns (i.e., 4×3, 6×4, 8×6), segment lengths 1s, 2s, 3s), 48 empirical head traces under settings. The evaluation newly defined metric specifically introduced to assess performance objectively. experimental findings show that, compared alternative approaches, our can achieve higher viewport match significantly improve watching behaviors content characteristics.

Viewport-aware adaptive 360° video streaming using tiles for virtual reality
360° video is attracting an increasing amount of attention in the context of Virtual Reality (VR). Owing to its very high-resolution requirements, existing professional streaming services for 360° video suffer from severe drawbacks. This paper introduces a novel end-to-end streaming system from encoding to displaying, to transmit 8K resolution 360° video and to provide an enhanced VR experience...
متن کاملSpatiotemporal Rate Adaptive Tiled Scheme for 360 Sports Events
The recent rise of interest in Virtual Reality (VR) came with the availability of commodity commercial VR products, such as the Head Mounted Displays (HMD) created by Oculus and other vendors. One of the main applications of virtual reality that has been recently adopted is streaming sports events. For instance, the last olympics held in Rio De Janeiro was streamed over the Internet for users t...
متن کاملViewport-Driven Rate-Distortion Optimized 360{\deg} Video Streaming
The growing popularity of virtual and augmented reality communications and 360◦ video streaming is moving video communication systems into much more dynamic and resource-limited operating settings. The enormous data volume of 360◦ videos requires an efficient use of network bandwidth to maintain the desired quality of experience for the end user. To this end, we propose a framework for viewport...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Pano2Vid: Automatic Cinematography for Watching 360° Videos
We introduce the novel task of Pano2Vid — automatic cinematography in panoramic 360◦ videos. Given a 360◦ video, the goal is to direct an imaginary camera to virtually capture natural-looking normal field-of-view (NFOV) video. By selecting “where to look” within the panorama at each time step, Pano2Vid aims to free both the videographer and the end viewer from the task of determining what to wa...
