A CLINICO-EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY ON PALMOPLANTAR DERMATOSES

Background: Dermatoses affecting the palms and soles are more common in our day-to-day practice, because they most frequently exposed to various allergens, mechanical stress infectious agents than any other parts body. Apart from diagnostic difficulties, few palmoplantar dermatoses cause great discomfort disability may also affect a persons livelihood. Aim:To study clinical features frequency of involvement their epidemiological aspects like age, sex distribution occupation. Methodology:100 patients with diagnosed clinically attending OPD Department, 1st March 2021– 31st August 2022 were included study. Patients complaints primarily pertaining or without body all ages both sexes enrolled Investigations such as direct microscopic examination scrapings, wet mount potassium hydroxide, Woods lamp examination, patch testing sample for biopsy was taken. After taking consent, detailed history aim recorded analysed. Results:A total 100 enrolled, among which 63 males 37 females. The age group affected 17-40 years. Seasonal variation reported 41% patients. symptom pruritis. Eczema dermatoses, followed by psoriasis fungal infections. Majority had soles. Conclusion:Palmoplantar very encountered dermatologic field. Early recognition symptoms signs aids investigations helps appropriate effective management illness improve quality life. This highlights need comprehensive studies dermatoses.
